Our newly remodeled building is used for a myriad of purposes, including public service lectures and seminars sponsored by various clubs and area businesses for the community’s welfare.

Select areas of Urfer Family Park are dog friendly. Dogs are not allowed in or near restrooms, playgrounds, or pavilion. The following map illustrates these areas. A boardwalk also overlooks wetland areas. Signs throughout the park provide descriptions of natural and sustainable features.

A 123-acre park, Twin Lakes Park serves as a training base for minor and major league baseball. Professional baseball games are open to the public at no charge from February to October. The preserve has more than eighty miles of hiking trails, including the twelve mile long Myakka Island Wilderness Trail, which connects the Carlton Reserve with Myakka River State Park.
